Banana Cream Pie Trifle

Today we celebrated my sister-in-law’s birthday and I wanted to make a special dessert for her. I must be craving bananas lately because thats all I’ve been baking. I love these little Lorna Doone Cookies. When we were in the hospital having babies, one of the snacks they give you is these little cookies. These cookies will always represent having babies! We are convinced that they taste different IN the hospital than if you just buy them at the store! Ha ha!

This recipe turned out SO GOOD! This will definitely be a repeat, super easy and it looks like it took a lot of time! Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 package of Lorna Doone Shortbread cookies

2 small packets of Jell-O Instant Banana Cream or Vanilla pudding

1 can (14 oz.) Sweetened Condensed Milk

4 Bananas

1  12 oz. container Cool Whip (whipped topping)

3 cups cold milk

Instructions:

  1. Mix pudding (powder), sweetened condensed milk and milk in a bowl and mix until well combined. Wait for it to set.
  2. While waiting of the pudding to set, unwrap your cookies and slice your bananas. I bought my banana slicer here.
  3. Once cookies are unwrapped and bananas are sliced, fold in 2/3 of the whip cream until it is light and fluffy.
  4. Now its time to layer-put the pudding layer down first, then a layer of bananas and then the layer of the Lorna Doone Cookies. Repeat these layers until you run out of ingredients-I saved a few cookies and bananas out. Top with the remaining Cool Whip and garnish with a few leftover cookies and bananas.
