One year ago to this very day I went to the skatepark with my four kids, not knowing I would break my leg in two places, have major surgery including having a metal rod put INSIDE my bone from my knee to my ankle along with four giant bolts that still stick out. Months and months of slow recovery and therapy and rehab before I could even put weight on it, let alone walk or run or jump or climb.
Well today, on the anniversary of this special occasion, we decided to head back to the same skate park where I broke my leg. But this time we took a few precautions. Just to be safe.
