Beef Stroganoff

My mom’s friend taught me how to cook this when I was a young teenager. This may have been one of the first things I learned to make. I normally make it with steak but I didn’t have any on hand so this time I used ground beef. I always love using McCormick seasoning mixes and this one is a family favorite.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons oil
1 1/2 pounds boneless beef sirloin, trimmed and cut into thin strips
1 package McCormick Beef Stroganoff Sauce Mix
1 cup water
1 cup sour cream

Instructions:

1. Heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add beef; cook and stir 2 minutes or until no longer pink.

2. Stir in sauce mix and water.

3. Bring to boil. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in sour cream. Sprinkle with McCormick® Paprika or Parsley Flakes and serve over noodles or rice, if desired.

  • Hello!
Here in Brazil we have a different recipe of what we call Strogonoff.
Its quite simple and my kids love it.
Heat some oil, add beef or chicken trimmed (some ppl use shrimp), season ( I like garlic and tinny chopped onions, salt and pepper).
Add 2 table spoons of ketchup, 2 of yellow mustard, 1 can of tomato sauce and 1 pack of heavy cream (but we have different sizes of heavy cream, you should use to taste).
We serve with rice (sometimes pasta) and shoestring potatoes on top. You should try this recipe!
    Its so yummy!

    • The way I make my stroganoff is a can of cream of mushroom soup and equal amount of sour cream. It’s so easy and my kids love it.
